Buyer Representation

It is important to know whom a Realtor is representing before giving any information to them, no matter how insignificant you may feel the information is. Texas law requires real estate licensees to give prospective customers the "Information About Brokerage Services" addendum which explains the different ways a Realtor can represent you.

The "Exclusive Buyer Representation Agreement" puts in writing, the details of the relationship between the Real Estate Broker, and the Buyer or Tenant. The agreement has obligations and duties of both the Broker, and the Buyer or Tenant.

Understanding the information, options available, and the reciprocal responsibilities detailed in these 2 documents prior to speaking with Realtor's, can prevent potentially costly misunderstandings later.
